Council Meetings
 
 Charlebois Council meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month (except July and August).

  Practicing Catholic men may contact the Grand Knight directly to discuss the aims
  and objectives of the Order. Ask any Knight for a pamphlet that describes the benefits
  of membership. Indicate your interest and an Application for Membership form
  will be provided.

   A new on-line membership requiring no local Council or meeting involvement is now
   also available to those interested. This type of membership allows access to KC

Covid-19   Information      
 Below is a Facebook link to telecasts of Sunday Holy Masses celebrating by Archbishop Murray Chatlain. The Archdiocese has now allowed restricted attendance (maximum 25 people, with social distancing) at Saturday and Sunday Mass celebrations at the Cathedral until further notice.  
 
One may still watch the Holy Mass from Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cathedral and make a spiritual communion. Click HERE for a document on how to make spiritual communion. The Holy Mass is recorded and is available to watch at a later time as well.

Parish Yard Cleanup          
 Several members of Charlebois Council gathered on May 26 (with safe distancing or masks used) to do a cleanup of the Cathedral Parish front yard.

Community Support

In response to Oscar’s Place plea for community support to provide lunches for clients during the COVID-19 Pandemic, Grand Knight Kevin Carlson and District Deputy Ken Kelly dropped off sandwiches and snacks as well as bottled water for 40 people, symbolizing the 40 days of Lent that had just ended.

   

 In place of the early years schools' breakfast program, cancelled because of the suspension of classes in Manitoba, Charlebois Council made donations to support the schools' food hamper delivery to the students' homes.


 Community Food for Families & Coats for Kids
Several new winter coats for students in need and also a breakfast program donation to the principals of each of the two Early Years schools in The Pas took place in the Fall of 2019 This was the 6th year that this support has been provided by the Council. Principals thanked the Knights for their support.   The Council's annual donation to the Northern Gateway Community Chaplaincy  breakfast program was also received with gratitude by organizers.

 
The Community Wellness Challenge
Charlebois Council made a $250 donation to Kelsey Recreation to aid the community Wellness Challenge event that ran during May, 2019. 

 Rock, Paper, Scissors Challenge 2019
 On April 26, 2010 the 1st annual Rock, Paper, Scissors Challenge, sponsored by
 Charlebois Council, was held at
École Scott Bateman Middle School. The four finalists received cash prizes, with a plaque going to the Champion.  The tenth annual event was held on April 29. Events from all previous years can be seen HERE.  

 St. Paul's Personal Care Home Birthday Party
On Saturday, Feb 23, 2019 the Council sponsored the birthday party for the residents of St. Paul's Personal Care Home with a cake and entertainment for the residents. This was the 11th year of the Council's participation.  

  Easter Bread Sharing
At the Easter services in 2019, for the sixth year in a row, Charlebois Council distributed a loaf of bread to each Our Lady of the Sacred Heart parish family in The Pas, and in 2019 also to the parishes in Cormorant and Pukatawagan.

 Council Dinner
The Council celebrated its 90th anniversary with a Chinese food dinner on November 13, 2018.
 It was an opportunity to provide a treat to our spouses and special guests.
                                     
 Coats for Kids
 
Since 2016 Charlebois Council has donated new winter jackets for those children who may
 need them. The coats were distributed through the two Early Years schools in October.

 

 Sacred Heart Cathedral Renovations
  In May 2017 a cathedral floor replacement fund-raising project was started. Charlebois Council stepped up again with a $5,000 donation to kick it off. The project was completed in August. A second donation of $5,000 was made in October to further the fund-raising goal.

 ICCD Tickets Sales
 Best Seller in 2018-19 was again Bro. Ken Kelly. Sellers' draw was made in May. Bro. Rick Klima did a great job chairing this successful project. The 2019-20 ticket sales have started. All proceeds stay in The Pas for use in charitable projects.


 About Our Council

Charlebois Council #2704, founded on
December 2, 1928, is named after Bishop Ovid Charlebois, the first Bishop of Keewatin-Le Pas diocese and an early Oblate missionary in northern Manitoba. 

Charlebois Council works with Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic parish in The Pas, providing funds for various projects. Council members are active participants in this Parish.

  Stained Glass Windows
In honour of Bishop Charlebois, the Charlebois Council sponsored a stained glass window in the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart in The Pas.  Click on the left side button (SGW) to see the stained glass windows of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cathedral Parish in The Pas, Manitoba, Canada  (Archdiocese of Keewatin-Le Pas).
